-Description

Baume&Mercier is a Swiss watchmaker founded in 1830.

At the beginning of its founding, it was well received for its jewelry watches, but in the late 19th century it was recognized for its chronographs and grand complication models.

It is symbolized by the "Phi" logo, which represents balance in Greek letters.

This watch is a dress watch with a rectangular case similar to Cartier's Tank.

The big difference from other tank watches is that the case and dial have a bark finish.

The "bark finish" is a finish with irregular patterns carved into it.

Rolex Day-Date watches are known to have this type of finish.

It is very rare to see this type of finish on a square watch, and it is also very rare to see this type of finish on a watch other than a Day-Date.

The dial is a champagne dial in the same color as the case, also with a bark finish.

The simple bar indexes and pencil hands are based on black and function as a color accent.

The installed movement is the hand-wound BM777.

It is a movement with a gold finish based on ETA's Cal.2512.

The Cal.2512 is used in Cartier's 18K gold watches, and its successor Cal.2512-1, named Cal.78-1, is used in must de Cartier Tank and other watches.

In this sense, it may be said to be close to Cartier's Tank.

Although not fitted with a belt, a genuine GP buckle is included separately.
