-Description
Mark XI (Mark 11) 6B/346 from IWC, arguably the most famous of all military and pilot watches.

The Mark XI was ordered by the British from IWC for military use and was produced after World War II from around 1948 until the early 1960s.

This watch was actually supplied to the Royal Air Force and is marked with the Broad Arrow on the dial and caseback.

A key feature of the Mark XI is its robustness. The case size is 36 mm, a size that is good to use in everyday life.

To enhance its antimagnetic resistance, the case is double-layered to prevent the movement from being magnetized, and the movement is housed in an inner case.

The inner case is stamped "JWC," but there is a reason for this.

Until around the time of World War II, Germany regularly used a unique typeface for printing, called Fraktur.

In this typeface, there is no apparent difference between the capital letter I and J, so that although the watch was actually stamped IWC, it appeared to be JWC.

The watch is originally water resistant, with a screw-in caseback and water-resistant crown.

When the watch was produced in 1948, radium was used as the luminous.

Later, when the luminescence specification was changed to Tritium, the T mark was added by the watch factory of the British Ministry of Defense. Therefore, only the paint of the T part has a slightly different apperance.

The movement is the Cal. 89, IWC's signature manual wind, beating at 18,000 A/h.

Added a hack function (second hand regulation) and engraved broad-arrow from normal Cal.89.
