-Description

Audemars Piguet was founded in Le Brassus in the Vallée de Joux by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edouard-Auguste Piguet.

It is the oldest watch brand consistently run by the founding family since 1875.

Since its founding, it has been manufacturing complication watches such as perpetual calendars, chronographs, and Sonnerie watches, and together with Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin, it is known as one of the world's three major brands.

This is a hand-wound dress watch with a round case and integrated bracelet, produced in the 1970s.

Both case and bracelet are made of 18K white gold. The case size is 33.5mm, and the smooth bezel gives it a slightly voluminous apperance.

The dial is a matte navy dial. It does not show much deterioration and is well coloured.

It features a very simple design with only the Jaeger-LeCoultre logo, narrow bar index and baton hands.

There is also a σ (sigma) mark on the dial at 6 o'clock, next to both SWISS.

This is a mark found on watches made by manufacturers belonging to the APRIOR from around 1973 to around 2000, and indicates the use of precious metals such as gold for the dial and indexes.

The purpose of this designation was to indicate that the watch is of high quality and Swiss made of gold.It is a specification found on watches made by mostly five companies (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, and Omega), but not all watches have it.

Since the sigma dial is rarely seen in Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, it can be said that it is a very rare watch although it is a very fine detail.

The bracelet is an integrated mesh-type bracelet, also known as a Milanese bracelet. It differs from the normal Milanese bracelet in that it is diagonally braided.

The current arm circumference is 18.5 cm. Only fine adjustment is possible at the buckle. If you want to shorten it further, please contact us as additional work is required.

The movement is equipped with a hand-wound Cal.K818. Introduced in 1959, this movement is only 2.94mm thin and is used in dress watches.

Cal.K818 is a highly reliable movement that was supplied not only to JLC own watches, but also to Chopard and Vacheron Constantin.
