-Description

TUDOR was born in 1926 as a Rolex diffusion brand.

The name Tudor is taken from the Tudor family, one of the British royal families that produced Elizabeth I, and was the site of Rolex headquarters. It is said that it became this name for the purpose of market expansion in the UK. With the exception of the movement, the same parts as Rolex are used, and there is no doubt that the quality is very high even though it is a diffusion brand.

This is the Submariner Reference 79090 released in 1989.

Tudor's Submariner history began in 1954 and has existed in several models. This 79090 is the third generation, and along with the reference 79190, is the last model to use Rolex parts.

Tudor switched from using Rolex parts to exclusive parts with the demise of the Submariner.

After switching to exclusive parts, models such as the Pelagos and Black Bay, which are still in the lineup today, were born.

At the time, there were three types of Submariners: this 39mm size 79090, the boys size 75090 of 36mm, and the 33mm 73090 called Mini Sub.

(*Rolex's contemporary Submariner is written as 40mm, but Tudor's current official website says 39mm because it is written as 39mm)

There are two types, black and blue, and the blue model is nicknamed "blue sub".

The dial is a matte blue dial. The second hand is a lollipop hand, and the hour hand is a combination of a Mercedes hand (Benz hand).

The tritium luminous paint, which is no longer in use, and the "borderless" type of index without a metal frame around it are specifications unique to vintage divers.

At the 12 o'clock position of the dial is the shield mark, which is also the current symbol of Tudor. On the other hand, the back cover and crown have the Rolex crown mark.

In the case of Rolex, the blue Submariner is a combination of stainless steel and gold (called "Rolezor" by Rolex), or only 18K gold case lineup.

The blue stainless steel case is unique to Tudor, and the design has a vintage feel, making it particularly popular.

In addition, the bezel part has faded moderately and is in a state called ghost bezel.

Comes with a winding type Oyster bracelet 9315. The number of frames is 10 frames, and it is possible to handle up to 18 cm around the arm.

equipped movement is Cal.2824-2. Based on ETA 2824-2, it has a very good reputation for its stability, robustness, and ease of maintenance.

Overhauled by Matsuno Tokeiten.

Plastic windshield replaced. The crown has been replaced with a new genuine product.

One year warranty.
